A new film for Aldi

Aldi came to us to promote its key food Specialbuys, linked to specific events, throughout the hottest months of the year as part of its #SizzlingSummer campaign.

We were given a relatively straightforward brief, create a range of stylish ‘food porn’ video clips that will be distributed via the Aldi UK Facebook page that only feature products (food and otherwise) that are sold by Aldi. In just one day.

The brief was handed to our video production team and they quickly got to work.

Social media videos should be quick-fire and precise; with this in mind we knew we’d need a lot of product shots to create a dynamic feel within the videos.

To check off the ‘food porn’ box of the brief we, of course, brought our slo-mo cameras to the shoot!

Our thinking was simple. The ingredients should be the star of the show, and so we shot them on a plain wooden base with a complementary pastel backdrop to highlight this.

We celebrated each ingredients ‘sexiness’ by squeezing, dropping or throwing it in front of the slo-mo camera, with great results!

 Once we had fully enticed the audience with these dramatic, slo-mo shots, we treated them to a shot of the finished recipe in all its glory. Job done!
